The Optimus Solar team is excited to announce that the Lake and Sumter Counties Solar Co-op of Solar United Neighbors (SUN) has selected us to install solar panels for the 65-member solar co-op group. We were selected through a competitive bidding process over 7 other firms. SUN will hold a public information session on October 6, at 6 pm and a Spanish-language information session on October 8, at 7:30 pm to educate the community about solar and the co-op process.

Co-op members selected Optimus Solar because of our pricing and expertise. The co-op is open to new members until October 31, 2020. Lake and Sumter County residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up at solarunitedneighbors.org/lake

The solar co-op is free to join and joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Optimus Solar will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, members can save on the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors. Partnering on the co-op are the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lake CountyPoder LatinxSierra Club Central FL GroupThe Oklawaha Valley Audubon Society, and the Trout Lake Nature Center.

Solar United Neighbors expands access to solar by educating Florida residents about the benefits of distributed solar energy, helping them organize group solar installations, and strengthening Florida solar policies and its community of solar supporters.
